Great things about the scouting program

It teaches you planning skills.
Merit badges give you an opportunity to learn and practice critical skills.
Merit badges also give you a chance to check out possible future vocations.
It gives you a break from being inside and looking at a screen.
It teaches teamwork.
The scout oath.
The scout law (Trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean and reverent).
It teaches you that with no work, there is no reward.  No one hands out free rank advancement cards in scouts.
